Just a quick thought on my way to work, but for trust to exsist there has to be an elemnet that is unknown... or else it would be called know. Not trust.
Yes, D - this is true. My question for the "homework" is simply to define what trust is for me and compare it to what others think.
What I wish I could answer, more than that, is how to dare to trust again after you've been crushed over and over. More than just issues with my dad, this includes issues with life in general, especially with the ministry... how do you not shut down? I'm so lonely but sometimes lonely is better than crushed... where's the balance?
I guess the very essence of the human experince requires trust. To not have it is like a roller coaster with out hills. It is no longer a rollercoaster, it is a railroad track.
We are created to trust, it is part of our exsistance, our instinct. with out it we are merely shells, not humans. But trust will bring pain because humans will always fail you.
For the record - I think this is a terrible thing! We're given this instinct only to be guaranteed for it to cause us pain no matter WHAT we do - betrayed if we trust, empty and alone if we don't - I don't understand why it's okay that we're set up like that?! Why does it have to be this way?
yesnomaybecouldbepossiblly. If we never feel the pain we never appreciate the joy.(sounds easy for me to say since I haven't faced anything like you have) If it is used correctly it is a good thing. Unfortunately yours has been abused (as have many) and is right now in need of repair. For the most part it is a good gift. One day we will be in heaven and it will all be wonderful. Until then there will be some pain.
